All our young artists are referred to us by other partnering organisations, or by the young artists we already work with.

We are putting a lot of energy into developing referral streams that identify individuals whom our one-to-one sessions are going to benefit most; in particular individuals who are not in education employment or training, or are going through personal difficulties or hardship. This referral model is also important in helping us to identify individuals who have an already established degree of ability in their chosen creative activity, otherwise we have no process in which to engage them. It is though the creative process that we achieve our aims of improving and sustaining wellbeing and building genuine mentoring relationships.

Our referral partners include:

ELAM, RSBC,  XLP, CYP,  Only ConnectUrban Hope; Kids On The Green, Islington Youth Offending Services, Divert, Bede House And in Suffolk: Ormiston Sudbury Academy

If you work for a youth organisation or educational institution and would like to refer a young artist to work with BIRD in our one-to-one creative sessions we'd love to hear from you!

Please note we do not accept referrals from family members.

What do our sessions 'look like'?
